Why give?

  • You hear it all the time. Black American youth commit the most crimes because of the lack of a male directive in his/her life.

We believe lack of lack of resources (poverty), and lack of direction (mentorship), play a direct role in the foundation of our youth.

  • At The Faye Foundation we are taking our communities most positive role models, and partnering them with after school programs to directly support the at risk youth.

  • What we’ve learned is that sometimes, all it takes is a vision. Sometimes when we lose/lack a parent in our life, we also lose and lack the vision they intended for us. While we will never be that voice, we can be that bridge.

  • The Faye Foundation goes into local schools, targeting at risk youth, to reduce the effect of the School To Prison Pipeline.

  • Any impact to the current number of crimes effecting our youth is a win to our organization, however we are looking to make a national, if not global impact.

  • Everyone has a bright future, and we believe we can change the product if we can change the environment.*

*Mentors are only allowed to interact with students during campus hours, & at the student’s assigned school.

 FAQs

  • Our community has drafted an unbecoming narrative about today’s youth. The Faye Foundation challenges those theories by placing an additional mentor in our youth’s life who may have a deceased or absent parent. Those mentors interact with youth at the child’s assigned school and are matched likewise according to gender assigned at birth.

  • What determines if a donation is deductible:

Your gift is tax-deductible if it meets several criteria:

    • A qualified organization is the recipient. Most qualified organizations are 501(c)(3) entities like public charities, private foundations, churches, hospitals, and educational institutions. You can confirm an organization's status using the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search tool.

    • No goods or services are received in return. For your donation to be fully deductible, you cannot receive goods or services of equal value in exchange. If you attend a charity banquet, you can only deduct the amount that exceeds the value of the dinner and entertainment.

    • The donation is itemized. In most cases, you must itemize deductions on Schedule A of your tax return to claim a deduction for charitable contributions.

    • You keep proper documentation. For any monetary contribution, you need a bank record, credit card statement, or a receipt from the charity. For non-cash items, additional forms may be required.

    • Please contact your local tax professional for more information.

  • The assigned child will be monitored in terms of grades and overall class behavior. Parents will also have direct contact to our mentors via a chat provided by the organization.
